GENESIS RESEARCH CONFIRMS INTENTION TO SEEK FULL ASX LISTING

Auckland, 5th April 2002 – Genesis Research and Development Corporation Ltd [NZSE / ASX: GEN] advises that it has applied to the Australian Stock Exchange to transfer its current ‘Foreign Exempt’ listing to ‘Full Listing’ status, in response to the ASX intended amendments to the Listing Rule provisions relating to Foreign Exempt entities.

Genesis will continue to maintain its home listing on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.

It has research collaborations with ArborGen LLC, Wrightson (NZSE: WRI), HortResearch, AgResearch and Landcare. Genesis is also undertaking significant unpartnered research programmes in novel plant hormones. A number of patents are held including 12 steps in the production of lignin.
