GENESIS RESEARCH APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN

Auckland, New Zealand, 15 July 2005 – Genesis Research and Development Corporation Ltd (NZSX/ASX: GEN) advises that Joachim (Aki) von Roy has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. At the recent annual meeting of shareholders, Mr von Roy and Dr Stewart Washer (Australia) were elected to the board. Other members of the board are Dr Steve Gillis (USA), Mr Jim McLean and Dr Jim Watson. Mr von Roy commented “Genesis has been through a difficult time but I have every confidence that our current research and development projects can lead to a positive commercial reality.
